ITALY
Listening to rock and punk rock legends left an indelible impact on the young Bearzatti, who grew up in the Friuli province of northern Italy. He devoted several years to rock and pop music, performing in local nightclubs and recording electronic music that continues to infuse much of his work.
Among his earliest and formative experiences was the album 'Live At Vartan' (1995) and the subsequent US tour with the first Russian trumpeter to break onto the American scene, Valery Ponomarev, and versatile drummer Ben Riley, best known for his work with Thelonious Monk. In 1994, Bearzatti formed the Kaiser Lupowitz Trio with Enrico Terranioli on guitar and Zeno De Rossi on drums.
Bearzatti's projects are numerous and diverse. It is this ability to combine his works with a versatile and restless culture that has attracted the attention of the Academy of Jazz. Experimentation is what he does best, and in Gianluca Petrella's Indigo 4 (2004) he helps the trombonist define genre definitions and create music that is "fresh, bold, strange, but effective, that's the new style!".

Day 2
Israel
Matan Klein, flautist and composer, presents with his quartet his latest album "The Long Run", released by the London label Ubuntu Music earlier this yea
The Jerusalem-born musician, a student at the Rubin Academy and Berklee College in Boston, is inspired, like much of the Israeli scene, by his country's diverse cultural background, as well as by the United States, the cradle of jazz, and Latin America. Especially in Brazil, where some of his teachers are Hermeto Pascoal, among others, or Chick Corea, whose tribute he pays with an emotion that the audience receives with undisguised enthusiasm.
Matan Klein is also a renowned teacher. He fills this role of transmitter with energy. His students over the years have become his jazz friends, such as the excellent young pianist Toky Stern. Also of note is the performance of the excellent Joran Oron on bass.

Astonishing virtuosity shines through again and again and serves as the vehicle for this purely acoustic, hand-crafted chamber jazz laden with overtones. Tobias Vedoveli, Stepan Flagar and Martin Eberle play music that combines sensuality with a drive for creativity, the kind of music that goes straight to the heart and excites the mind. A wonderful treat for the ears.

Day 3
Canada
Dillon and Suba first met in Toronto in 1993, singing in a jazz choir at York University called "Wibijazz'n'". Soon after, they began conducting the choir together. At their year-end concert, Dillon and Suba performed an a cappella "director duet" and thus FreePlay was born. What began as a typical jazz duo with voice and piano began to evolve: more instruments were added and more musical styles explored to create a duo unique in its musical depth and variety.
In 2007, FreePlay created the unique innovative style of live a cappella performance that brought them international acclaim.
Award-winning Dylan Bell and Suba Sankaran are international leaders in the world of a cappella singing, having worked with legends such as Swingles, Nylons and New York Voices. They have performed in over 20 countries on 6 continents and are co-artistic directors of SING! Toronto Vocal Arts Festival, Canada's only a cappella festival.
